The Law of Attraction: The 9 Automatic Ways We Think Negatively
by Christy Witman
Our minds have been programmed and conditioned to think in certain ways. There are a total of nine ways that our minds automatically think, and these thoughts are very disempowering. The good news is that we all can change our thoughts and therefore change the outcomes of our lives. We must first become aware of these limiting thoughts. Once we are aware of these thoughts, we can then make the conscious decision to change them. Everything starts and ends in your mind. How your mind works determines how happy you are, how successful you feel and how well you interact with other people. It also determines how you create by working with the Universal Laws, specifically The Law of Attraction. The patterns of your mind encourage you towards greatness or they cause you to flounder in mediocrity or worse. Learning how to focus and direct your mind is the most important ingredient of success.
There are nine ways in which are minds are programmed to think in negative ways. The first of these nine ways is through "All or Nothing" thinking. These thoughts happen when you make something out to be all good or all bad. There's nothing in between. You see everything in black or white terms, there is no shades of grey. This thought process will bring you down and based on The Law of Attraction, ultimately bring negative circumstances, situations, or people to you.
For example, if you desire to have a partner in your life, but your mind tells you, "There are no available men or women out there" you will feel down. When your mind tells you this you feel doubt and give out a very low vibration. You also feel upset and totally disempowered. If you do not have the awareness that you control your mind, not the other way around, you will just whine and complain and you will create this as your reality. Is the thought, "There are no available men or women out there" a rational thought? OF COURSE NOT!! It is just a thought. You can probably think of many men and women that have found their ideal partners and are really happy. But if you never challenge the thought, then you just believe it and spend your time in struggle. You fight with yourself. You want a partner, but won't allow one in because you have given into your thoughts. Your vibration is inconsistent. Whatever desire you give out, it is negated by the contradictory vibrations.
It is so important to talk to that negative thought and replace it with a more empowering thought. You can say, "Stop, Cancel" and then replace it with a thought that makes you feel good such as "I know that my ideal partner is on his/her way. I trust the Universe and The Law of Attraction to bring me all that I desire, or something even better."
Let's face it. Everyone has to deal with stress. However, how do we know that our stress level is so excessive that it affects our health and a bad sort of way? I am focusing here of what is known as negative stress. Generally, this occurs when a person's ability to handle a situation is exceeded by the perceived difficulty. For many people this motivates them to look within and find resources, which may be used to increase their level of performance and confidence. For others, stressful situations may cause them to automatically cower, become defensive, and do their best to hide and avoid....
Much has been said about the desire to change. Indeed, this is the topic of many self-help experts, personal coaches, and even professional counselors, psychologists, and other psychotherapists. However, little is ever said about why a person would want to transform.
The first thing that I notice is that there is a universal desire for happiness. While many people will never be content – even if their situation is the envy of many others – generally when a person has something that is causing a high level of dissatisfaction in their life, then they develop an urge to become...
What does a fulfilled life mean? Certainly it is much more than just paying bills, having kids, and comfortably retiring. There simply must be much more to living than that. Over the years I’ve worked with countless people who feel that something is missing. Yet, they don’t know what.
Back in the 1943, the American psychologist Abraham Maslow gave us a theory that endures until today. He specified that people have a “hierarchy of needs,” which stipulates that needs must be satisfied in this order: physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and then self-actualization. Once...
